With how far we have come in flight so far, it makes one want to wonder how much further there is to go. What other amenities we can add to make our journeys more enjoyable? I have never been in a space shuttle so I cannot say to what is for sure on those but I have been on many airplanes, trains and boats. So I can say that it would be awesome if airplanes were more like boats or trains. If you could get up and walk around on a plane without having to be in other peoples way, to be able to go to a different room on a plane to help break up the trip would be a good goal to reach.
If we could have planes that were more like a home to help us relax on the plane I think that we would all enjoy flying more, if we were all not crammed into such a small space for as many people that they put on a plane I feel we could enjoy it more and would fly more instead of driving or taking a train. For instance lets say planes had different cabins to walk around in, a big enough bathroom that you don’t feel claustrophobic in, lets say that planes had tile or wood floors to make it more homey, or that you could pick your own movie and not just watch what the airline was showing. Lets say that airplanes had a kitchen like a restaurant that you could have a home cooked meal in as opposed to microwaved dinners.
Or maybe a break room where there are games and toys to help keep your children occupied so they do not disturb the other passengers, or maybe even we could all have our own cabin rooms like a train, then we can could have our own fun and not have to worry about if we were disturbing the other passengers. One can dream right? Who’s to day that that is possible some time in the near future? Look how far planes and shuttles have come. Well, we do know that shuttles and space stations have pretty much all of these amenities, more or less, because astronauts must stay in space for months or years so this helps them all stay sane so they can do their jobs. But for planes how amazing would planes be if we could make them this great?
I know that a ton of people would be flying when they traveled more if they didn’t feel crammed in a small place with a lot of people. If the trip to the airport didn’t take four hours even before your flight left, if you didn’t have your luggage misplaced, if you could take what you wanted on the plane and not have to pay an extra fee. Flying were be a much better experience for everyone. Maybe one day we will get all the kinks worked out.
I won’t pretend that I am a master at science or even extremely knowledgeable about science, because I am not but that doesn’t stop me from talking about it. And I apologize in advance for anything that is not entirely “correct” but most of what I will discuss is my opinion and what I feel is “correct” which is totally based on second hand knowledge. So before any of you get your panties in a bunch and write angry comments just remember that we are allowed to have our own opinions and are allowed to believe in what we want because that is our right as Americans, so even if you don’t agree with me let’s try to have a mature discussion about it and not degrade each other. I also thank you in advance for your ability to do just that.
I watch a lot of shows that air on the History Channel, the Science Channel, National Geographic and so on but I am not under the delusion that everything I see and hear on TV is real, just like not everything on the internet is true, especially Wikapedia, which we know that a lot of people turn to that to find things out but which many people don’t realize is that anyone can post on Wikapedia, even you even me. I love shows about evolution because I strongly believe in the big bang and evolution for the reason that we exist today. I also believe that is it almost impossible to know for a 100% fact to know for sure how it all started but to make it easier to understand for most, just think of it as I have “faith” that evolution is the reason for humans existing.
We as humans have come along way with our technology and intelligence, we evolve everyday becoming better and better versions of ourselves so it stands to reason that when we first came into being we were the most simplest versions of ourselves. Obviously we did not know then what we know now, so when we looked up into the sky we did not know what was out there like we do know, that they are other planets out and a whole vast universe to explore, our passed selves more than likely looked up there and had no clue what to think about it and to make sense of the sun, moon, stars, clouds, shooting stars and what not created a story to help themselves understand what they were seeing. Which is understandable, we still do that sort of thing, we create something to help us understand our lives.
But now that we know and can learn to know more it is hard to believe anything else about how we came to be where we are today. Just like we thought the world was flat we thought that “something” brought us here because what else could be the reason. But we have since realized that the world in most definitely not flat and we were most definitely not brought here by “something” else, that we were here from the start and have evolved into what we are. Just like we explored our planet we are exploring our universe and the more we do that the more we have to learn and that is our greatest achievement, learning.
I want to take a moment and thank one of my local sponsors, Wood Floor Refinishing Novi, who specialize in hardwood flooring, thanks guys!
Airplanes have come such a long, long way since they were first invented in 1903. If you can remember that long ago and what an achievement it was for us. Back then the pilot was not fully secured in the plane and neither was the passenger if the plane had enough room for one. There were no tops on the planes for the compartments for the pilots. It was completely opened, just a seat belt holding everyone in. It is amazing that more people were not killed because of this. There was a greater chance of falling out if you lost control of the plane or in a blind panic to get out of of the plane, you had a better chance of getting stuck. But with anything, as the years roll on the technology of things improves, as it did with planes. Now we have planes big enough to hold hundreds of people complete with TVs and bathrooms. Who would have thought?
There are planes now that have bars and showers aboard. Not sure if you have seen that commercial but now the Emirates Airbus has showers and bars on their airplanes. I am not completely sold on the fact that you need a shower on a plane but I guess that it is considered a convenience, especially if you have a long flight. Might as well shower if you can that way when you get to your destination you are already to do what you need to do, whether it’s falling on your bed asleep or having to socialize with who ever you are visiting. Since you are stuck there on a long flight, might as well take advantage of all of the accommodations that the airline offers. My question is though, how big is that water heater tank? What if everyone on board wants to take a shower? Will there be enough hot water? And what if the tanks breaks? Is there someone on board that can do water heater repair? Or is everyone on board out of luck? Some things to ponder…
Being on one of these airplanes would almost feel like being on a train except that you’re flying. Trains have bars, eating areas, sleeping compartments and so on. Now planes have them too, you are able to finally get up and walk around on a plane instead of being confined to your seat. Just that fact would make me want to ride on one instead of another that doesn’t offer showers and bars. That has to be the least favorite part of flying, being stuck in your chair. Only being allowed to get up when you need to go to the bathroom. That’s why I take the train or just my car mostly. I have not been on a plane in almost twenty years. Granted that your trip is a lot shorter but sometimes getting to your destination is as much fun as being at your destination. Well, I take that back, it will be depend on if your enjoy the company of the people that you are with.
