Airplanes have come such a long, long way since they were first invented in 1903. If you can remember that long ago and what an achievement it was for us. Back then the pilot was not fully secured in the plane and neither was the passenger if the plane had enough room for one. There were no tops on the planes for the compartments for the pilots. It was completely opened, just a seat belt holding everyone in. It is amazing that more people were not killed because of this. There was a greater chance of falling out if you lost control of the plane or in a blind panic to get out of of the plane, you had a better chance of getting stuck. But with anything, as the years roll on the technology of things improves, as it did with planes. Now we have planes big enough to hold hundreds of people complete with TVs and bathrooms. Who would have thought?
There are planes now that have bars and showers aboard. Not sure if you have seen that commercial but now the Emirates Airbus has showers and bars on their airplanes. I am not completely sold on the fact that you need a shower on a plane but I guess that it is considered a convenience, especially if you have a long flight. Might as well shower if you can that way when you get to your destination you are already to do what you need to do, whether it’s falling on your bed asleep or having to socialize with who ever you are visiting. Since you are stuck there on a long flight, might as well take advantage of all of the accommodations that the airline offers. My question is though, how big is that water heater tank? What if everyone on board wants to take a shower? Will there be enough hot water? And what if the tanks breaks? Is there someone on board that can do water heater repair? Or is everyone on board out of luck? Some things to ponder…
Being on one of these airplanes would almost feel like being on a train except that you’re flying. Trains have bars, eating areas, sleeping compartments and so on. Now planes have them too, you are able to finally get up and walk around on a plane instead of being confined to your seat. Just that fact would make me want to ride on one instead of another that doesn’t offer showers and bars. That has to be the least favorite part of flying, being stuck in your chair. Only being allowed to get up when you need to go to the bathroom. That’s why I take the train or just my car mostly. I have not been on a plane in almost twenty years. Granted that your trip is a lot shorter but sometimes getting to your destination is as much fun as being at your destination. Well, I take that back, it will be depend on if your enjoy the company of the people that you are with.
